Chanthaburi Province is organising the “Chanthaburi Fruit Festival 2015 – Colors of the East” from 23-31 May, 2015 at the Multi-purpose Ground of the Chanthaburi Provincial Office on Sukhumvit Road. This annual event was formerly called “Chanthaburi World Durian Festival” and normally took place at the Triangular Na Choei Ground.
This year, the public and private sector of Chanthaburi led by the Governor of Chanthaburi, Mr. Samart Loifah, has agreed in consensus to rename the event as “Chanthaburi Fruit Festival 2015 – Colors of the East” and to relocate the venue to the Multi-purpose Ground of the Chanthaburi Provincial Office.
The new venue has ample space that can be divided into several activity zones as well as offers vast parking area. It is also located directly on Sukhumvit Road, allowing easy access for tourists and the general public.
The Chanthaburi Fruit Festival 2015 – Colors of the East is taking place at the time when Chanthaburi is abundant with the seven top fruits – durian, mangosteen, rambutan, longkong, longan, salak, and various kinds of banana, as well as many other fruits. Visitors will have the chance to taste and buy all these fruits throughout nine days.
Apart from tasting and buying fruits, there will be exhibitions on fruit gardening and processing, fruit promotion in local and international markets, and booths selling local products, as well as stage entertainment and cultural shows.
