Chinese Lantern Festival in Samut Prakan

During the Chinese New Year there is a Lantern Festival at Katanyu Foundation in Samut Prakan. There are over 5,000 colourful lanterns that have been imported from Taiwan. Some are just plain lanterns but others are shaped as humans, gods and various animals. This large Chinese temple is near Ancient Siam on Sukhumwit Road. They turn the lights on at about 6:30pm. This is the best time to go just after sunset when the sky is dark blue. The festival this year runs from 1st-29th February 2016. Every year it starts the day before Chinese New Year.
