Chao Mae Lim Ko Niao Fair

Around Leng Chu Kiang Shrine, Amphoe Muang, Pattani

Among the Chinese and families of Chinese descent, the Goddess Chao Mae Lim Ko Niao is a highly revered.

During the Chao Mae Lim Ko Niao Fair, a procession is held 15 days after the Chinese New Year in honour of the deity.
       
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
    - A statue of the goddess, the principal Buddha image and statues of other gods are carried on a palanquin in a procession that is accompanied by lion dances.
    - A procession of flags accompanied by music
    - Displays of spiritual strength by walking on hot coals
    - Assorted entertainment including Chinese opera, the Manohra dance, movies, performances by students
