The colourful festivals of Songkran and Loy Krathong are well-known to tourists. However, Thailand has many more unique festivals that are not always found in guide books. Please contact us with news about your event.

Songkran Festival in Pattaya Na Kleua 18-20 April 2012



April 18 – 20, 2011
Lan Pho Park, Na Kluea, Chon Buri province

Except for the building of sand stupas on the beach and the local landscape, Songkran Thai New Year rituals and celebrations in Pattaya are similar to those performed in other parts of the country.

Activities
A procession of the Buddha image along the Pattaya beachfront road offering local residents and visitors an opportunity to participate in the ritual bathing of a revered Buddha image.
Merit-making
Rice and dry foodstuff are presented to Buddhist monks and temples as merit-making offerings.
The observance of the ‘kong khao’ religious ritual
The ritual bathing of Buddha images at temples
Rot nam dam hua ceremony
Scented lustral water is presented to elders and individuals held in high esteem in a gesture of respect.
