Festivals in Thailand 2012

The colourful festivals of Songkran and Loy Krathong are well-known to tourists. However, Thailand has many more unique festivals that are not always found in guide books. Please contact us with news about your event.

Red Bull F1 Racing in Bangkok: 18 December 2010

Formula 1 is coming to Bangkok on December 18, with world champions Red Bull Racing unleashing an F1 car on Rajdamnoen Avenue. The event is part of celebrations for HM the King's birthday and will also commemorate the feats of the late Prince Birabongse Bhanudej, widely known as Prince Bira, the first and so far only Thai Formula 1 driver.

MAP OF F1 CIRCUIT:

Australian Mark Alan Webber will drive the F1 car over a circuit that will run from Phan Fa Bridge (near the Golden Mount) towards Democracy Monument and finish at Kok Wua Intersection. They are expected to do three laps. Spectators will be in four zones between Phan Fa Bridge and the Democracy Monument. There is a parade at 1 p.m. and the race is due to start at 3.30 p.m. Expect big crowds as we think at least 10,000 spectators will be attending this unique event.
