The Tourism Authority of Thailand and Phrae Province will hold an event called Phra That Chor Hae Temple Fair from 26th February to 4th March 2015 at Phra That Chor Hae Temple at Muang District of Phrae Province. Buddhists and tourists are invited to visit and pay respect to Phra That Chor Hae.
Phra That Chor Hae is a sacred temple of Phrae Province, which contains the hair of the Buddha. The temple was constructed during the Sukhothai era, while the stupa housing the Buddha’s relic has an octagonal shape and is 33 meters in length with Chiang Saen artwork style. The stupa is padded in light yellow-colour gold. The temple is important for the people who are born in the year of the tiger. Tourists who visit Phrae Province will usually visit Phra That Chor Hae Temple to pay homage there, as it will bring good luck to their prayers and their family members.
This year, many activities will be arranged to attract more Thai and foreign tourists. There will be many grand parades such as the elephant parade, the 12 zodiac parade, and other traditional parades. Buddhists will also be able to listen to the Thammahachart Mahavesandorn Chadok prayer. OTOP goods will also be on sales at the fair.
