Bun Bang Fai Rocket Festival (11-12 May 2013)


The Rocket Festival in Yasothon Province is spectacular and provides a tremendous opportunity to experience Isan-style festive fun. The Rocket Festival stems from the belief that when this merit-making ceremony is held, gods and spirits will reciprocate with seasonal rain and a bountiful harvest.

Ayara Elephant Party (12th May 2013)


The Ayara Party is an annual elephant merit making festival held in Ban Mai Pattana Village of Sangkhlaburi District in Kanchanaburi Province.

Royal Ploughing Ceremony (13th May 2013)


The Royal Ploughing Ceremony Day is actually two ceremonies in one. The first, the Phra Ratchaphiti Pheutcha Mongkhon is a Buddhist ceremony to bless the plants. The secend, the Charot Phra Nangkhan Kan is a brahmin ceremony to bless the plants. The ceremonies are carried out each year to bring good fortune to all plants and to boost morale.

Rayong Fruit Festival (23-29 May 2013)


The biggest fruit festival in Thailand is held in Rayong, the land of fruit. During the event, there are a lot of activities such as fruit competitions, decorated fruit parade, Miss fruit gardener contest, eating fruit competition, fruit exhibition, local fruit and OTOP products selling, concert and cultural performances.

12th Samui Regatta (25 May – 1 June 2013)


The Samui Regatta, is an annual event that takes place on the beautiful sun-drenched island of Koh Samui from 25th may to 1st June 2013.
