The Thai Red Cross Society are organizing the Annual Red Cross Fair which will be held at Amporn Garden (Suan Amporn), the Royal Mounting Statue Plaza, Sanam Saew Pa, Sri-Ayudhaya Road and Rachadumneon-nok Road during 29 March and 6 April 2013.
For this yearâs activities, they have more than 200 booths from both government and private organizations, to display their goods and/or activities performed and entertain the fair-goers. Apart from inspecting consumable goods on sale, the fair-goers can try their luck by picking lucky stars, and/or buying the Red Cross raffle. There are also products from royal projects: from Chitlada Villa, from HM the Queenâs shop; from Phra Dabot Foundation, from Silpacheep 904 shop, for example. This year, we welcome the newcomer – the booth of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand. There is an exhibition to inform the public of the Thai Red Cross Societyâs various activities. The 75 Provincial Red Cross Chapters bring along their renowned local products to tempt the fair-goers.
At the fair, there are contests for healthy babies and healthy senior citizens. Decoration booth at the fair are also competing under the theme of “84 Pansa Maharaj, Red Cross follows in HMâs footsteps and work for Thais”. There are 4 categories of the contents: Economy â follow the sufficiency economy principle; Natural Resources and Environment â support local technology/knowhow; Education and learning â strengthen our communities; and Public Health â enhance the quality of life.
An exhibition by the Thai Red Cross Society is displayed to provide the public with information on medical, nursing and public health matters. In addition to the exhibition, consultations and medical services will be provided at the fair by the two medical teams from the Thai Red Cross hospitals: Chulalongkorn and Queen Sawangwattana at Sri-Racha. Services include blood group checking, blood pressure checking, and general health and medical consultations. Common household medicine, made in accordant with Chulalongkorn Hospitalâs original recipe, is also on sale at the fair. At the fair, the Thai Red Cross Societyâs staff will be on hand to receive the pledge for eye-, organ-, skin-, and body- donations. Blood donations can be made at the fair throughout the whole nine days of the fair.
